  • Read Arabic language books: Your Kindle e-reader now supports Arabic language books. Choose one from a selection of thousands on the Kindle store and enjoy reading Arabic content.

  • Read with your own fonts: You can now install your favorite fonts on your Kindle and choose one of them from the Display Settings (Aa) menu to read your eBooks. Connect your Kindle to a computer and refer to the “Read Me” file in the “fonts” folder for more information.

  • You can now make multiple highlights with fewer clicks by turning off the highlight menu from Reading Settings.

  • Expanded Search: In-book search now includes results from your notes and highlights.

  • In-book Clock: Now you can check the current time without leaving the page you're reading. Use the option in Display Settings (Aa) menu to display the clock.

This update includes general performance improvements and the following new features: 

  • Bold Control: You can now set the boldness level on all reading fonts for enhanced readability and eye comfort. The new bold option can be controlled from the Display Settings (Aa) menu in books.

  • More Font Sizes: You can now choose from 14 different font sizes to suit your reading preference.

  • Redesigned Search Results: See chapter headers with in-book search results to help you find what you are looking for.

KindleOS 5.8.9 Here's what's new:

This update includes general performance improvements and the following new features: 

  • Ragged Right Alignment: You can now read using left-aligned (ragged right) text instead of justified (aligned on both left and right margin). This new alignment option can be selected from the Display Settings (Aa) menu within Kindle books that support Enhanced Typesetting. On the Kindle eBook Store page, look for "Enhanced Typesetting: Enabled" in the features list.

  • Faster Highlighting: You can now touch and drag to make a highlight more quickly. Tap the highlight again to edit or delete it.

  • Advanced manga page turn controls: You can now drag left and right to adjust speed and direction when using the fast continuous page turn feature while reading manga.

  • Preview manga double page spreads: You’ll now see a preview of double page spreads at the bottom of the page while reading manga. Tap the preview to see a full landscape view of the spread, and tap again to close it.

  • Crop margins in manga: You can now remove blank margins from manga pages for a closer view of the content. Enable this option from the Display Settings (Aa) menu within manga books.
