This is an announcement
For the transcendental run
The train now standing
Leaves for higher planes
All aboard the express kundalini
The song is in your heart
Your heart is in the song
The song is of the earth
The song is of the sky
You are disintegrating
Into everything around
Reintegrating
The worm we dug from higher ground
You have let go of ego
Ego is no longer you
Closer to nirvana
This song was written in February 1989 as Neil Young toured the Pacific Northwest. His guitarist Frank Sampedro recalled to Mojo in a 2018 interview, "I said, 'Look, man, tonight, get in your room, think about all this stuff that's going down: the Ayatollah, all the stuff in Afghanistan, all these wars breaking out, all the problems in America… [...] And the next morning, we got on the bus to leave and he says, 'OK, I did it!'" "
“I want you to let Spotify know immediately TODAY that I want all my music off their platform,… They can have Rogan or Young. Not both.”
As for Young, he has removed his songs from Spotify before - quitting the service, along with Apple Music and other streaming sites, in 2015 after stating their audio quality was not good enough.
Young specified that his decision was motivated by The Joe Rogan Experience, which is currently Spotify’s most popular podcast and one of the biggest in the world. Rogan signed a $100 million (€88 million) deal in 2020 giving Spotify exclusive rights to the show.
Nobody's perfect
Not even a perfect stranger
Nobody's permanent
Everything's on loan here
Time, time, hear the bells chime
Over the harbor and the city
Can you hear the whistle blow?
Sounds like time the avenger
You spin me right 'round, baby
Right 'round like a record, baby
Right 'round, 'round, 'round
You spin me right 'round, baby
Right 'round like a record, baby
Right 'round, 'round, 'round
It's two A.M., it's two A.M
The fear has gone, the fear has gone
Help I'm steppin' into the twilight zone
Place is a madhouse, feels like being cloned
My beacon's been moved under moon and star
Where am I to go, now that I've gone too far
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past, I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone, there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
Here we go now
A sociology lecture
With a bit of psychology
A bit of neurology
right no fun
Well, maybe go out,
Maybe stay home
Maybe call Mom on the telephone
Well, come on, well, come on
No fun to be alone
Hang on, don't let me go
No fun to be alone
